Since the early days of my time in gaming communities, they all had 1 requirement, posting an application to join. These applications would take up the majority of staff time to read, check, add roles and groups, post a message, and other steps other communities would take when accepting an applicaiton. In our case we take a democresy approch to applications where the members vote on new applications. Our application system is 99% automated, when you make a new thread in the application forum, you will notice 3 extra fields, your age, your steam profile and a refferer. Each 3 of these fields have execution paths and thresholds except the steam profile, since this can but empty the application cant do anything with an empty value. If an applicant is old enough they will be accepted automatically. once they are accepted, if they put a refferer that refferer will get a notification that a member they reffered has been accepted and will receive 10 reputation points. In future this will be something else that can be used redeem ranks, giveaways, perks and other stuff. Staff will be alerted on discord about new applications being posted as well. Once the application is accepted the bot will edit the thread to add a poll and post a message that the application is accepted. After this, 2 weeks after this, the system will count up votes and automatically promote the applicant to full member, close and lock the thread. The only case where the system can not process the application automatically is if the member receives any no votes, in which case the system will defer to a staff member since this part requires reading replies and human judgement as to whether to applicant should be approved or or not. And thats it, Pretty simple really, and Deadly Verdict is the only online gaming community with this autonomous system. And it can only improve from here, with the spendable currency system once implimented. Plans we have; Redeemable currency for perks. Automated rank syncing on teamspeak and discord. Other cleaver ideas.
Greetings everyone (and no one because we just launched). This weekend, Deadly Verdict goes live. Myself and @Oreo have combinded our expierience with gaming communities to build our own new, fresh and exciting commuinity. There are alot of failures with other communities which drags them to their demise, whether would that be; Too strict of rules, Staff positions treated like full time jobs, A grouling join process, Required activity, Lazy staff, Or just trying too hard We hear you and we've been there, no one wants to join a gaming community that you have to be on everyday or get kicked like its a job. This is why once you have joined DV and posted a join application in our automated application system, you are in DV for life! No acitivty requirements! DV works on the premise instead of punishing inactive members, we reward active members. We understand you may have a job and only be able to play on the weekends, We understand that anything can happen which might prevent you from being on everyday. We understand that we are not the center of your attention. Some quick information, On launch our current staff and roles are; @tagKnife -> DV Clan Leader @Oreo -> DV Clan Leader @thurston -> Brawlhalla Game Master & Technician @MapleMooses -> League of Legends Game Master @Deadly Verdict -> DV Clan Bot You can find our rules here: https://www.dvclan.org/rules-conduct/
